SS
will begin airport shuttle
service from Palm Beach International Airport to its surrounding
communities on December 1, 2001. The nationally known shared-ride,
door-to-door service will be the exclusive shared-ride shuttle service
from the Palm Beach International Airport.
Fares will vary
due to the expansive nature of its service area, but the shuttle
service assures its riders the cost will be at least 30% less than
a taxi ride. Fares for a second traveling companion will be discounted.
For example, if the fare from Boca Raton to PBI
- Palm Beach International is twenty four dollars. a companion
fare would be ten dollars. The service area for Palm Beach International
Airport will include Stuart, Fort Pierce, Palm Beach and Broward
Counties.
"We are
very enthused about our opportunity to serve travelers in and around
South Florida," said Mark Levitt, president of SS Miami and
Southern Shuttle Services, Inc. "We have always had an enormous
economic impact on the convention and visitors business in the cities
we serve. We are all encouraged to make use of shared-ride options
in these times and the residents of palm Beach need and deserve
to have this choice when making travel plans to and from the airport."
The local franchise
will operate a fleet of brand new 10 passenger Chevy vans. Guests
arriving at Palm Beach International will find the counter located
at the exits of the lower level baggage claim area. Guests may make
reservations online on the web site www.shuttlefinder.net from anywhere in the country prior to arriving in Palm Beach; or
passengers can check in at the counter in the airport.
